Piggybacking on the back of yesterday’s blogpost about interactions, comes a topic close to my heart, and one that is rather huge in scope. We were going to wait a while before we talked about it, but thought, maybe it’s a good time to talk about it. What is it? Well, it’s the language in which Seedlings speak to one another.
The history of constructed languages is a long and fascinating one. The most famous and widely used is perhaps Esperanto, with an estimated user base of 100,000. Apparently, one can learn the grammar in one hour!
The appeal in creating a language for Avesta lies in the universal and easily applicable nature of a new language. When you think of expression, communication and thoughts, the space that an expressive based language creates is considerable. When telling a joke in Seedlish, it’ll be you, the players, who really fill in the details.
For example, in the little snippet below, we know it is a joke that's being told, and we know the Seedling hearing it finds it funny, but the details are left to your imagination.

Those of you reading this who are fans of the Sims, you will be familiar with Simlish. What other constructed languages do you know? Do you speak any?!
