Those of you with an eagle eye and a good memory may remember back in July a post about something we were calling then a ‘user portal’. Well, we wanted to give you all an update and some more specifics about this project.
We are deep in the production of this and it’s making us very excited. We now refer to it as the ‘SEED Community Portal’. This is your entry point to Avesta, to all things SEED and it marks a new phase for SEED and for you, our community. Step by step, we’re going to be making this game available to you, and the first point on the journey will be this portal.
To give you a bit of an insight as to what you can expect: we’re talking here about a web solution, one go-to place on the Internet, with a rich set of features. It will contain all account management that’s needed, as well as the launcher for the game. You will use this portal to play our game, and through this connective umbilical cord between players and SEED we want a lot of interaction and contributions - going in both directions.
What does this mean? This will be a place to discuss ideas and feature requests among the community, and from these conversations we will curate the best of them and offer them up in a democratic voting process. Those ideas that gain the highest level of interest and backing from the wider community (and which match our vision of the game of course) will be then taken into the development process!
All of this will be transparent and easy to follow. Once they’re in the development process, these features’ progress will be also viewable on the portal. In this way, you, the player, can influence the world of SEED as it comes into being.
We aren’t just building a game, we aren’t just building a world: we are building a game and a world with our players.
Over time this will expand with more features, including having more exclusive playtests and other coordinated, hand selected missions onto the Avestan surface. Not only will we give you insight into how the planet of SEED is looking, but we also want to give you a direct and unique look behind the curtain of the games industry itself, the nuts and bolts of game development, and have frequent, if not daily, updates and news about the team, about SEED and about the dreams we’re creating all of us together.
